I do not believe in politics of divide on communal lines

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reiterated that he did not believe in politics which seeks to divide people on communal lines and would never speak communal language. During an interaction with a delegation of Muslim leaders in New Delhi, Mr. Modi said, the politics of majority and minority has caused a lot of damage to the country. He said employment and development are the solution to all problems and he is focused on delivering them. The Prime Minister also spoke about the initiatives in skill development taken by the government and the work done by him as a Chief Minister of Gujarat in fields such as education of the girl child and revival of the kite industry.
Mr. Modi also discussed social, economic and educational issues related to Muslims. In the meeting, the delegation members said the Muslim community has rejected the divisive politics of vote-banks and is interested in development. The members appreciated Mr. Modi’s leadership over the last one year and said they wants to forge a partnership for progress and development with the Prime Minister. The 30-member delegation was led by Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, the Chief Imam of All India Imam Organization.The Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were also present on the occasion.
