A week after a devastating earth-quake rattled the Himalayan nation of Nepal, capital Kathmandu is slowly limping back to normalcy. Power supplies and communication networks have been restored in most parts of the city.
Relief materials have also begun reaching near the epicenter of the quake such as Dhading and Gorkha which suffered almost total devastation.
Disaster Relief operations conducted by NDRF in the earthquake struck areas continued today. The NDRF are putting their best efforts to remove the debris wherever there is possibility of live victims. Several NGOs are also active in the city to pursued them and for counselling to remove their sense of fear.
The death toll has crossed 6,600. The Nepalese Home Ministry’s National Disaster Management Division said that more than 14,000 people have received injuries.
Fresh aftershocks were reported this morning and Friday night in Kathmandu and other areas. It created panic among the people, who scrambled for open spaces.
