In New Delhi, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) is also taken serious note of the incident and studying the case on its own. NCSC provide safeguards against the exploitation of SCs & STs and to promote and protect their social, educational, economic and cultural interests.

The college administration at Medical College has already ordered an inquiry into the suicide bid by three Dalit students in the campus. A committee has also been constituted to probe the allegations that a college lecturer deliberately failing them in the subject and making casteist remarks against them.

Three medical students of the Ganesh Shankar Vidy-arthi Medical College tried to commit suicide by consuming poison on Friday night.

All the three students, namely Vivek Gautam, Shobhit and Sanjeev Kumar, are dalits and have been admitted to the ICU in Hallet hospital where their condition is improving slowly.

The three are second year MBBS students at the medical college and failed in Biochemistry paper. Police said a suicide note was found in their possession in which they blamed a college lecturer for deliberately failing them in Biochemistry paper. The suicide notes also allegedly mention that the particular teacher made casteist remarks against them.  

They were found unconscious in a hostel room after being upset over failing in their first year subject.
