A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Tuesday permitted the self- financing professional colleges to retain 15 percent quota as NRI seats. However, admissions to this quota should be subjected to the final decision on the petition.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), had curtailed the percentage of NRI quota seats. The petition challenging the action of AICTE was filed by Kerala Self-Financing Engineering College Managements Association and B Pharm Colleges Association. A Single Bench of the High Court had earlier stayed the AICTE order.
