Generally, physical disability makes a person feel inferior and keep his / her lags behind others in the race of life. But today I met a young girl who, despite having lost both her hands and both feet since birth, has a lot of self-confidence and courage to fight in her life.

While talking to her, I observed that she was more energetic and enthusiastic than those who are physically fit like us. The girl’s name is Nabia Qasim who has recently passed class 12th from Zeenat Mahal School in Old Delhi.

Ms. Shabana Nazir, the daughter of eminent poet late Rafat Sarosh, organized a ceremony to distribute prizes to meritorious children of Urdu medium schools at the India Islamic Cultural Center in New Delhi.

Everyone present there was amazed to see this courageous girl’s enthusiasm and self-confidence. This girl does her schoolwork on her own despite the loss of both hands.

Nabia Qasim is a role model for those who are unable to move forward due to their physical disabilities. Nabia wants to continue her studies despite her ‘disablities’.

After seeing Nabia, I recalled the young man without both hands and feet who had recently cleared the civil services Exam.

Nabia also wants to perform a similar feat. A philanthropist present there took all the responsibility of all he future education expenses. Many people present there also gave him cash prizes.

Former Chief Election Commissioner Dr. SY Qureshi and Himalaya Drugs Chairman Dr. S. Farooq attended the event as chief guests.
