Union Minister Anurag Thakur today said that the budget allocated for Maharashtra is 13,700 crore rupees which is 11 times what it used to be during the UPA regime. The Union Minister met representatives of six assembly constituencies of South Central parliamentary constituency. He also visited Kalyan Dombivli Parliamentary constituency.
Addressing media persons, the Union Minister said Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has allocated a budget for Maharashtra which is 10 times in comparison to budget allocated during the previous government.
Speaking about the development of transport infrastructure, Mr Thakur reiterated that Maharashtra is the only state, where two Vande Bharat trains within the state have been started. Urban transport and rural transport system have been upgraded in the state, he added.
Mr Thakur said 9 crores of women have been associated with self-help groups and the Government at the Centre is providing support to digitize them. He added that the Narendra Modi-led Government is giving fillip to machine learning and artificial intelligence through 3 artificial intelligence centres. The minister said the Government is focussing on skill development among the youth through 30 skill India centres.
The Sports Minister said the sports budget has been increased from 3,397 crore rupees sports to 900 crore rupees. Speaking about various flagship schemes of the Government, the Minister informed 9 crore households have been provided tap water connection under the Jal Jeevan mission and more than 9.5 crore LPG connection has already been given to the women under Ujjwala Yojana. The Minister added the Government is focusing on Animal Husbandry, fishing, MSME and other small units. He also said that the Government has always ensured last-mile delivery of initiatives.
Mr. Thakur further said that the government is working on Inbuilt satellite channels and after approval, there will be no need to set up additional equipment to get free dish services.
