The number of positive cases of Coronavirus infection has mounted to 1,442 in Bihar. Death toll due to Corona is nine in the state. In all, 517 patients have so far recovered and 916 are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
Altogether, 580 migrants who returned from different states during the lockdown have so far been tested positive. Maximum positive cases of 185 migrants are from Delhi followed by 123 from Gujarat and 106 from Maharashtra.
The State Government has instructed the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to ensure that any migrant found walking on roads be transported by buses to the nearest railway station. The State Government has arranged 11 trains within state to safely send migrant workers to their destinations.
Five trains each from Kaimur and Gopalganj, the bordering districts of UP and one from Danapur in Patna have been pressed into service. Taking into consideration the large inflow of migrants, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed to increase the testing capacity to 10 thousand per day.
