US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor today witnessed the India-US joint military Exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas 2026’ at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan and highlighted the strength of the India-US defence partnership. Posting on X, Gor said it was impressive to see US and Indian forces training together and said the exercise reflects trust, readiness, interoperability, and shared purpose. He also expressed pride in the achievements of the US and Indian armies working together.
The 22nd edition of the bilateral exercise involves around 600 personnel each from the Indian and US armies and is being conducted simultaneously at Auli in Uttarakhand and Mahajan in Rajasthan. The troops are undertaking coordinated drills, synchronised battle procedures and combined-arms operations across mountainous and desert terrain.
The exercise also focuses on technology integration, including drones, autonomous systems, contemporary weapon platforms and exchanges on multi-domain warfare. It aims to enhance interoperability, operational coordination, joint planning and the ability of both armies to operate together across varied terrains. Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026 is scheduled to conclude on September 28.
