India and Iran are all set to sign 15 economic and cultural documents on Saturday in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who is on a two day visit to India
Agreements will include agriculture, environmental and railway issues.
One of the main agreements which is to be signed on Saturday is about Chabahar Port which is connecting India to Central Asia, according to sources.
India is one of the main importers of Iranian oil and petrochemical products while there are no banking and financial problems between the two countries.
Prez Rouhani for further expansion of India-Iran relations
‘Iran and India will solve the few banking problems in this visit,’ said an official.
President Rouhani arrived here Friday evening after two days stay in Hyderabad.
He will meet with his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country’s foreign minister on Saturday. The visit to India is taking place at the official invitation of the Indian prime minister who visited Iran last year.
President Rouhani is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh, Road and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Akhundi, and Industry Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari.
A large delegation from Iranian private sector businessmen and tradesmen are also in India as part of President Rouhani’s delegation.
