Eight students drowned at Diveagar beach in Raigad district of Maharashtra today. Police said all eight bodies have been recovered. The students were part of a group of 42 students from a private coaching class in Alandi, Pune district. Some of the students were studying in Class 11, while others were in Class 12.
Police said some students from the group went swimming at the beach, located around 170 kilometres from Mumbai. Eight of them drowned and could not return to the shore.
