850 new courts will be set up in 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, to deal with large number of pending cases. This was disclosed by Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Justice DY Chandrachud after inaugurating Ghaziabad CBI courts premises Friday. Justice Chandrachud expressed deep concern over pendency of one lakh and 44,000 cases in various courts of Ghaziabad judgeship. He said new courts would be constructed with a future planning to cater to the litigants’ needs for the next 25 years. All courts will be connected to separate electricity feeders to provide them outage-free power supply to facilitate their uninterrupted judicial working.
Justice Chandrachud said 500 posts for new judges will be created in Uttar Pradesh and they will be appointed by March 16 next year.
