The intensity of rain decreases slightly

Over 60 people lost their lives in heavy rain and landslides in the last few days in Kerala even as the intensity of rain has slightly decreased today giving a boost to search and rescue operation in flood affected areas.

Search operations by Army, Central and State disaster forces are on war footing in landslide-hit kavalapara in Malapuram and Meppady in Wayanad.

50 people are reportedly missing from Kavalapara after a major landslide, two days ago. 9 bodies were recovered till now. 8 people are missing from Meppady. People from danger zones are being shifted to relief camps.

Around 2 lakh 25000 people are in over 1500 relief camps in the State. Meanwhile, Kochi International Airport resumed operations today.

Rahul Gandhi MP. will be visiting the disaster-hit regions in Wayanad constituency today afternoon. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged people to be for coming two days and to cooperate with the relief operations in the State.
