The overnight anti militancy operation concluded with the killing of all three hiding terrorists in the south Kashmir’s Pahalgam area of Anantnag district early morning today. The slain militants have been identified as local Hizb militants.
The Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police last evening launched the operation on a tip off about presence of terrorists near Wildlife Sanctuary in the Awoora village of the area.
After security forces zeroed in on the suspected residential house, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering encounter. The residential house was reportedly damaged in the blast. There was no report of any fatal or non fatal casualties on the forces’ side.
