Security forces stage flag march in Ayodhya

LUCKNOW: Though there is no visible tension in the state, yet the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh government does not want to give any chance to the miscreants for  creating trouble in the aftermath of Babri verdict on September 24. The government has instructed all the police officials and districts’ collectors to deal firmly with troublemakers.

The government has beefed up security in sensitive places including Ayodhya, Faizabad, Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Aligarh, Varanasi and Kanpur.. It is also keeping vigil eye on rumor mongers.

Security forces staged a flag march at Ayodhya and in other parts of Faizabad district on Saturday to instill confidence in local people.

“The flag march is meant to convey to the common man that they need not be feared as we are with them. At the same time we also want to convey the miscreants that they will be crushed if they try to take law into their hands” said a senior security official in Ayodhya.
 
Security forces comprised of central Para military forces, state police and Provincial Armed Constabulary and mounted police with all equipment and weaponry are available at all the sensitive palaces.

About 60 companies of security forces including 10 companies of central forces, 10 companies of PAC and 40 companies of state armed police besides 5000 home guards and one thousand constables were deployed in this sensitive district.

The State had reportedly asked the Centre for 630 companies of Central forces, but the centre has provided only 40 companies of CRPF to the state.
