Congress conspiring to not approve OBC Bill: BJP

BJP today accused the Congress of hatching a conspiracy to not approve the bill to confer constitutional status on the Backward Classes Commission.

Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Party General Secretary Bhupender Yadav blamed the Congress party of betraying the Other Backward Classes, OBCs. He said, all political parties had recommended about the Bill in the select committee.

Mr Yadav said, it is an issue of 52 per cent of the population and it is not political. He said, the act by the Congress party yesterday in Parliament shows its anti poor and anti OBC mentality. He said, in Congress Governments have done nothing for the OBCs since independence.

Senior Party MP Hukumdev Narayan Yadav said, Congress Governments have always ignored the OBCs despite recommendations from Kalelkar Commission and Mandal Commission.
