At least eleven people have died due to consumption of spurious liquor in Aurangabad and Gaya districts. Fifteen people, who are in serious condition, are under treatment in local Government Hospitals for treatment.
In Aurangabad, eight people including a teacher died due to consumption of spurious liquor while three people died in Gaya. Family members of the deceased said, the victims had consumed spurious together and fell sick after reaching home. Aurangabad District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal informed that patrolling has been intensified in areas and 74 people have been arrested in this regard.
Bihar is a state where production, importation, and sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited by law.
