5 killed in Delhi building collapse; Magisterial probe ordered

The death toll in the building collapse in West Delhi today rose to five.  According to Delhi Fire department, rescue operations have come to a close. The incident occurred last night when a four-storey building collapsed in Vishnu Garden area of West Delhi.

Delhi government has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident. Talking to media after visiting the site, Delhi PWD Minister Satyendra Jaidelhi buildingn said, District Magistrate of the area will lead the investigation and the report will be submitted to the government within seven days.

Delhi BJP Chief Satish Upadhyay and Congress leader Ajay Maken also visited the site this afternoon.

Earlier  Joint Commissioner of Police Dipendra Pathak said, eight persons were injured in the collapse and six of them were discharged immediately after treatment while two seriously injured persons were shifted last night to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

Delhi Government has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident of building collapse in West Delhi. An FIR has been registered today in Khyala police station against the building’s owner.
