Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla addressed the students and faculty members of New Delhi Institute of Management, Tughlakabad, today.

Referring to the youth of India as harbingers of change, Shri Birla noted that they, with their potential, hard work, skills and innovations are contributing to not only India’s development but also to global growth. They are already leading in several sectors across the countries and in future, their roles will be more significant, he observed.

Mentioning about the present demographic structure of developed countries, Shri Birla noted that such a situation is advantageous for Indian youth to foray into different fields, excel in their career and with their experience and expertise to lead the world. He urged the students to devote their time and energy to study hard, and to innovate and excel so that they could make their lives better and emerge as effective partners in the country’s development and self-reliance.

Speaking on Mahatma Gandhi as a youth leader, his contribution to India’s freedom struggle and role of Indian youth during the Independence movement, Shri Birla urged the students to take inspiration from them and to work for collective causes. The youth should fulfill the pledge of the Prime Minister to make India a developed nation by 2047, he emphasized.   

 Stressing that the New India is now setting the global agenda which other countries are following, Shri Birla gave the clarion call to ensure that every step of every Indian should be in the direction of making India developed and stronger.

On the occasion, Shri Birla also gave away certificates and awards to meritorious students of the Institute and achievers in different fields.

Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha was present on this occasion.
