BJP today said Yakub Memon’s death sentence by Supreme Court must not be given any communal colour. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra said some people are trying to give a religious twist to the Yakub case. He said Supreme Court’s verdict must be respected as politicization of the issue is an insult to victims of 1993 Mumbai blasts.
Mr Patra said the case has been going on for 20 years and every aspect has been carefully studied by the court. He said NDA government has not shown any biased and partiality in the matter. Yakub Memon is set to be executed for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
