Indian Army has vowed to punish the perpetrators of Uri attack at right time. It said that reserve the right to respond at the time and place of our choosing; in a press statement it says, it has the desired capability to respond to such blatant acts of aggression; NIA team arrives at the site of Uri terror attack.

The Director General Military Operations, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh in a press statement said the Uri operation has been called off; Area clear of bomb,grenades etc.; 4 AK-47’s,39 UBGL,2 Radio sets,GPS,Maps recovered.

The DGMO said that the Indian Army has the desired capability to reply to blatant act of violence in a manner as deemed appropriate by the Army.

The DGMO also informed that large quantity of food and medicine packets, having markings of Pakistan have been found.

The Lt Gen said infiltration bids have increased this year and there have been a total of 17 such acts across the LoC this year, which have been sucessfully eliminated by Indian Army.

He added, of a total of 110 terrorists killed during various operations this year, 31 were killed while they were attempting to cross the LoC.

Ranbir Singh said such facts indicate the desperate attempt from across the border to push infiltrators into India to create disturbances.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday evening and discussed the situation arising out of the Uri terror attack.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu has said United Nations should take up this issue very seriously and announce Pakistan as a Terrorist nation. Asserting that Pakistan has proved to be a rogue nation, Naidu said that the government will give proper reply to Pakistan for the deplorable act.

The death toll in the ghastly attack in the wee hours of Sunday in Uri sector of J&K has gone up to 18 as one more Jawan succumbed to injuries at R and R Hospital.

Tearful tributes were paid today to the 17 martyred jawans who made the supreme sacrifice in Sunday’s Uri terror attack.

Lt Gen. D. S. Hooda Northern Army Commander and 15 corps Commander Lt. Gen Satish Dua paid tributes to the martyerd by laying wreath.

J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also paid tributes to the martyred soldiers.

Later CM Mehbooba Mufti visited hospital and enquired about the health of the injured soldiers.
