Opposition parties are demanding a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam while BJP is firm on its stand that the present SIT probe under the M.P. High Court is sufficient. The Congress has criticised Home Minister Rajnath Singh for saying no to CBI probe in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Board Exam, Vyapam, scam.
The party said, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan should be sacked or he must resign for a fair probe into the scam. CPI(M) and Aam Aadmi Party have also demanded Supreme Court monitored probe. Talking to AIR, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said Home Minister’s remarks show that the BJP is trying to hide the truth and befooling people.
Demanding Supreme Court monitored CBI probe, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said the deaths in the scam are not natural and guilty must be punished by unearthing the case.
Rejecting the demand for resignation of the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, BJP alleged that Congress is attacking Shivraj Singh Chouhan out of desperation from continuous defeat in Madhya Pradesh.
Party spokesperson G V L Narsimha said that the state government has no hesitation to submit the case to CBI or any other agency but it can not take suo motu decision in this regard as the Jabalpur High Court monitored probe is on in the scam.
