TDP leaders gave the notice to the secretary of the Assembly as the Deputy Speaker N Manohar was away from Hyderabad. TDP president Chandrababu Naidu told media that the no-trust motion would give an opportunity to thoroughly discuss farmers’ problems as the Government did not respond so far to resolve them.

On the other hand, Government Chief Whip B Vikramarka exuded confidence that the Government would win the no-confidence motion. As per the present position, Congress has 155 members while the principle opposition party has 90 members in the assembly.

Governor E S L Narsimhan has fixed Saturday for the Speaker’s election. Deputy Speaker of the assembly N Manohar has submitted his resignation. He is likely to be the candidate of the ruling congress party for the speaker’s post.
