The third round of talks between the state government and Gurjar delegation that held today remained inconclusive. Like first and second round, parties could not reach any agreement. However the Gurjar leaders asserted that the government should come out with a draft on the reservation issue. It was also decided to hold the next round of talks at 5 o’ clock in the evening.
The Gurjar agitators under the leadership of Colonel Kirodi Singh Bainsla are still sitting on the rail track in Pilupura resulting in closure of Delhi Mumbai route. Railways are incurring a loss of 15 crore rupees daily due to disruption of rail traffic on this busy route. Kota division alone has suffered a loss of more than 70 crore. Buses of Rajastan Roadways are also not plying on the routes blocked by the Gurjar demonstrators. Jaipur-Agra, Tonk-Shivpuri and Bayana-Hindaun roads are still blocked causing problems for the passengers.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan High Court has directed the police officials to get the Jaipur-Agra highway and Delhi Mumbai rail track opened today itself. Hearing a contempt petition filed in this case the court has directed the IG of Jaipur and Bharatpur range to remove the blockages at any cost. It has also directed the District Collectors of Bharatpur, Karauli and Dausa to maintain law and order situation in their districts. The High Court has also summoned the Chief Secretary and DG Police in the court tomorrow to clarify why the Gurjar agitators were allowed to take the law in their hands.
