The southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Telangana and it is active over Konkan and Goa, Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South interior Karnataka. According to the India Meteorological Department, the conditions are favourable for further advancement of monsoon in some more parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal during next 48 hours.
The IMD has also predicted for heavy to very heavy rainfall at few places over Odisha, Konkan and Goa during next 24 hours and heavy rainfall at isolated places including over Vidarbha, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal. It has also advised the fishermen along and off north Andhra Pradesh, South Odisha and Maharashtra and Goa coasts not to venture into the sea during the period.
IMD has also said that heat wave conditions are expected to prevail at isolated places over West Rajasthan.
