Stresses for joint platform by opposition against govt

sonia-gandhiIn a bid to take on the BJP led Union Government, 17 opposition parties on Thursday held a meeting and decided to have a ‘common approach and common understanding’ among them in future.

Chaired by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, the first meeting after she vacated the post of Congress president, discussed issues including attack on Constitution, rising attack on minorities, communal polarisation, farmers distress and judicial crisis.

In her speech, Mrs Gandhi blamed the Modi Government for communal violence, polarisation across the country and other issues, citing recent incidents.
