US President, Barack Obama has said, terrorism would remain a threat to the United States and the country has to pursue a smart strategy that can be sustained.
In his final national security speech, on counterterrorism in Florida, he said that country has to take a long view of the terrorist threat rather than offer false promises that America can eliminate terrorism by dropping more bombs, or deploying more and more troops. He emphasized the need for US to uphold its values by respecting the rights of Muslims and trying terror suspects in civilian courts.
