Aid received from China and India being offloaded from an Indian Air Force (IAF) MI-17 V5 helicopter, at Bhulatham village ahead of Dhading following a recent massive earthquake in Nepal.

Maoists have abducted around 250 villagers in Tongpal area of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh. Police have confirmed the incident. According to senior police officials large number of armed rebels stormed into Marenga and adjoining villages of tribal Sukma district late last night and took away around 250 villagers, including women and children, along with them.

Maoists were opposing the construction of a bridge on a local river near Marenga village and were apparently angered over the villagers’ support to the development work.

After the incident security personnel have intensified the search operations in the area. Efforts are on to trace their location of abducted villagers
