The Supreme Court today ordered real estate company, Unitech, to file a detailed affidavit with respect to their assets in India and abroad.
Its jailed promoter, Sanjay Chandra, had knocked the doors of the apex court seeking bail in the case.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, asked the realty major to file a detailed affidavit with respect to their assets in India and abroad.
‘Co-developer is directed to deposit Rs 30 crores by March-end. Further, Rs 10 crores by mid-April would have to be deposited. The money deposited would be used for home buyers of the Gurugram project,’ the Supreme Court said.
The apex court also allowed the application filed by the co-developers for impleadment in the case.
It ordered Asset Reconstruction Company, Managing Director of JM Financial, which is willing to provide funds to Unitech for completion of project, to be physically present before the Supreme Court on March 12, the next date of hearing in the case.
