rajnathHome Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated a 10-day ‘Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav’ at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts in New Delhi.

Addressing the inaugural function, Mr Singh said despite being diverse India is one nation. He said, it is the culture of the country which binds diverse cultural streams.

He congratulated the organizers of the programme which intends to promote folk and tribal arts not only in India but also in different parts of the world.

Culture Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma also addressed the gathering.

More than 2,000 artists from across the country will showcase India’s cultural heritage through performances, arts and cuisines during the cultural extravaganza. The festival will culminate on October 24.

It is one of the five such festivals planned in this financial year in different parts of India including Varanasi, Bangalore and Jammu and Kashmir.

The seven zonal cultural centres have been given slots to present their arts during the festival which would showcase an amalgamation of ‘Ek Bharat, Srestha Bharat’, ‘Hamaari Sanskriti, Hamaari Pahchaan’ and ‘Swachh India’.
