rajnathUnion Home Minister Rajnath Singh today asked police and people to remain alert as new ways of radical thinking emerging due to advent of new technology.

The Minister was speaking after taking the salute of the an impressive passing out parade at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Academy in Hyderabad today. Giving credit to people of the country, he also lauded the efforts of the intelligence agencies and defence forces in this regard.

The Minister said, Central governement is extending all out support for States police modernisation to make the forces more efficient and enable them to tackle the new challenges. He said, a sum of 25000 crore rupees has been sanctioned for this purpose.

The Home Minister presented trophies and cups to the toppers and winners among 136 Indian Police Service probationers, including 14 foreign officers, of the 69th batch of the IPS took part in the parade.

The successful candidates included 22 women probationers, including one from Bhutan police, who formed part of the parade.The 14 foreigners are from Royal Bhutan Police, Nepal police and Maldives police.

The Home Minister presented Prime minister’s Batton and Home Ministry’s Pistol to the best all rounder Sameer Aslam Shaikh of Maharashtra Cadre and trophy to the best all rounder lady officer, Amrita Duhan of Rajasthan Cadre.
