US Ambassador to India, Richard Verma has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US was very very rich and productive as significant progress was made in wide range of areas from civil nuclear energy to defence and trade.

He said in Washington that the takeaway was deepening and broadening of the relationship in so many ways. Mr Verma, who was present in most of the meetings Mr Modi had in the US, said that it was a real testament to friendship between the two countries.

Mr Verma said the two leaders spent several hours together at the White House and the mood was exceptionally positive. He said, they had very good discussions on regional, economic and other issues. Observing that defence is the big part of India-US relationship, he said that the two countries have moved well beyond just defence.
