In rare gesture, Prime Minister,  Narendra Modi  today attended Ashara Mubaraka – Commemoration of the Martyrdom of Imam Husain (SA), organised by the Dawoodi Bohra community, at Saifee Masjid, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing the meet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, the world is one family and our tradition of carrying everybody along gives India an identity different from all other countries.

The Prime Minister said that the teachings from Imam Hussain’s scarifies for peace and justice is more important today. He praised the Bohra community for being honest, disciplined and law-abiding and not resorting to deceit while augmenting trade, its main occupation.

Prime Minister hailed the Bohra Muslim community for globally spreadingv the message of co-existence, as he attended an event here to mark the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad.

Sharing dais with the Bohra’s spiritual head Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin at the event held at Saifee Mosque here in Madhya Pradesh, Modi also praised the community for its culture of honest business dealings.

Calling traders the backbone of the economy, Prime Minister said, his government over the past four years has given a clear message that business should be done within the preview of the rules and law.

Referring to the welfare schemes of government of India like Ayushman Bharat and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Prime Minister informed that Ayushman Bharat Yojana has come as a Saviour for 50 crore poor people of the country.

The Bohra community’s spiritual head Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other dignitaries were present.

Bohra community is a sect within Shia Islam known for trading and business acumen.
