Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came out openly in support of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who is facing opposition attack against over alleged irregularities in Delhi and District Cricket Association.

Prime Minister said the Minister will be absolved of the charges in the same manner as senior BJP leader L K Advani did in Hawala case. Addressing BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, Mr. Modi said Congress tried to implicate Mr. Advani in Hawala case but it had boomerang on it in the past. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said Mr. Modi alleged that Congress is not able to digest its electoral defeats and is raking up manufactured allegations to defame the government.

The Minister said Mr. Modi also asked the MPs to go to people after the end of Parliament session and highlight the works done by the NDA government for the betterment of poor and youths of the country. The Prime Minister asked them to spend one night in every assembly seat of their Parliamentary constituencies in the next month and meet people and expose the disinformation carried out by the Congress. The MPs were also told to visit neighbouring constituencies in the month of February. Rajya Sabha MPs were asked to visit such constituencies where there are no BJP MPs.

Venkaiah Naidu said the party has also decided to observe good governance day on 25th of this month on the occasion of birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Talking about the Parliament functioning, Mr. Naidu urged Congress to help in passage of key bills including on amendments to Juvenile Justice Act in the Rajya Sabha.
