Lok SabhaAIADMK members in both the Houses of Parliament forced repeated adjournments in the pre-lunch session today demanding the government to take action against former Home Minister P Chidambaram on corruption charges.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned four times and the Lok Sabha three times till 2 PM on the issue. The agitating members were displaying newspapers about the alleged amassment of wealth by Chidambaram’s son. According to the newspaper report, Chidambaram’s son has made investments in real estates in several countries including London, Dubai, Sri Lanka, France and USA.

Presiding officers of both houses observed that since the person is not a member of either house, they should give a proper notice. In Rajya Sabha, some of agitating members sat in the well of the house, despite repeated appeals from the chair. Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu urged the AIADMK members in Lok Sabha that government has no objection to discuss the issue, provided they give a proper notice.
