Series of parley are going on among BJP veterans, who had slammed party leadership for defeat in Bihar assembly elections. They held several deliberations among themselves today.

Senior party leader Yashwant Sinha met L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi separately at their residences in New Delhi.

The meeting came amid comments of Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari that the party will listen to them. Home Minister Rajnath Singh is also learnt to have stressed on the need of engaging with the party stalwarts.

Meanwhile, Shanta Kumar, who was part of veterans group in issuing strongly-worded statement against BJP leadership, welcomed the party’s efforts to reach out to them.

On the eve of Diwali, Mr. Advani, Mr. Joshi, Mr. Sinha and Mr. Kumar had said in a statement that the party was emasculated in one year and sought accountability to be fixed for the Bihar poll loss.

BJP MPs Shatrughan Sinha, R K Singh, Bhola Singh, Hukumdev Narayan Yadav and Manoj Tewari have also spoken out against the top party brass.

Veterans should raised views at a party forum: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today suggested that the party veterans should have raised their views at a party forum rather than going public. The Minister asserted that the Party would take note of these views and concerns. He said the Parliamentary Board has already decided to take up with all the concerned and discuss the shortcomings that led to the defeat in Bihar.

Mr Naidu referred to Party’s good performance in Maharashtra, Jharkand, Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana where BJP is in power, as also in municipal body elections of Assam, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, even Bengaluru, Andaman and Ladakh. The Party also made spectacular inroads in the neighbouring state of Kerala where we used to be very weak, he said.
