Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has described the resignation of Nalanda University Chancellor George Yeo as unfortunate and said the quick turn of event would create an atmosphere of uncertainty about the institute.
Mr Kumar said the Centre should take positive steps in view of its distinct character and with basic spirit to develop the institute as per its vowed objective.
He said, Yeo was associated with Nalanda University from the very beginning and it is a matter of concern that he left for not being consulted on key issues pertaining to the issues.
Nalanda University Chancellor George Yeo yesterday resigned from his post, mentioning that he was not taken into confidence while dissolving the governing board and creating a new one.
