Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari has stressed the need to adopt modern technology and proper planning in order to ensure development of infrastructural facilities in the remote rural areas.

He also called for removal of several hurdles caused by the existing Forest laws so as to promote participation of the tribals in conservation of forests while safeguarding their interests and livelihood rights.

Speaking at the felicitation ceremony in Nagpur last evening, Mr Gadkari said the tribals and rural people living in the remote and inaccessible areas should also be enabled to ensure their betterment through proper utilization of the natural resources available in the vicinity.
