Indian Meteorological Department, IMD on Tuesday warned that the Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some states of North India till end of this week. Minimum temperatures are likely to drop by 2 degree centigrade to 4 degree centigrade from Wednesday over most parts of North-West India following a wet spell for the next two days.

According to IMD predictions instance Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from December 31 to January 2. Cold wave conditions are also expected in Northern Rajasthan on January 1 and 2.

Dense fog in isolated pockets are very likely over Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan in night and morning hours during next 3 days.

Over Delhi the wet spell is almost over said IMD. Minimum temperatures will start dropping now gradually.

Another active Western disturbance is approaching on January 5, which is likely to bring rain over Delhi around January 5 and 6. The senior scientist, R.K. Jenamani said that they are monitoring the approaching Western disturbances and will issue alert accordingly.
