Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday approved the first Good Governance Regulations of the country which aims to make the State administration more accountable, accessible, dynamic, and transparent.
These regulations will also include the formation of a separate cell to take action on the effects of climate change.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s office said, the good governance manual will provide end-to-end online services to the citizens within stipulated time frames by expanding the scope of the ‘Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra’ and citizens’ grievances will be redressed at a faster speed.
The Chief Minister had given the instructions to prepare good governance rules in the month of September last year.
Accordingly, these regulations have been prepared after discussions with the ministerial officers, experts, and NGOs. In this, 161 department-wise indices have been prepared, on the basis of which the performance of good governance will be evaluated.
