Polling will be held tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the State Assembly By-Polls in 28 constituencies spread over 19 districts of Madhya Pradesh,.

Voting time has also been extended by one hour in view of COVID-19.

The Chief Electoral Officer of the state has appealed to voters to exercise their franchise in order to strengthen the democracy.

The 230-member MP Assembly currently has 201 members. Of these, BJP has 107 MLAs while Congress has 87 members. Seven members belong to other parties.

After the by-election, 116 MLAs will be needed to remain in power for any party.

The BJP needs nine MLAs to stay in power while the Congress requires 29 legislators.

The remaining 29 seats are vacant, of which 28 will be voted tomorrow.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mohit Bundas informed that all necessary arrangements have been completed at polling stations for safety from COVID-19.

Care will be taken to ensure masking, use of sanitizer and thermal scanning at Polling Booths.

Circles have been made at a distance of six feet to follow social distancing at the Polling Stations.
