The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in its special cyclone bulletin on Tuesday said a low-pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal (BoB) and adjoining South Andamans sea has intensified into a well-marked low at midnight on 8th May over the same area. It is likely to intensify further.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the low-pressure area is likely to intensify further into a depression by the evening of Tuesday over the same region and subsequently into a cyclonic storm over the Southeast BoB and adjoining areas of East Central BoB on 10th May.

After May 11, the storm is likely to re-curve gradually and move North- Northeast wards towards Bangladesh- Myanmar coasts.
