Ladakh Advisor Umang Narula inaugurated a one day workshop on the ‘recent initiatives for simplifying and enhancing aadhaar usage’ in Leh on Wednesday. Unique Identification Authority of India, UIDAI’s Chandigarh Regional Office has organized the event to improve the service delivery in various sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narula said the UT Administration would initiate family registration with the available data base in Ladakh.
He said, family registrations would facilitate the administration to reach the targeted beneficiaries under various central and state schemes. Mr. Narula hoped improving internet connectivity would also help in improving Aadhaar usage further in the UT.
Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar appealed to the ICDS and School teachers to avail the incentive scheme for new enrollments and updations of Aadhaar cards in the Union Territory. He said, Aadhaar enrollment systems are being enhanced and upgraded. He informed, so far two lakh 35 thousand aadhaar cards are being generated in Ladakh.
