Pandemic situation in Karnataka is showing improvement with a recovery rate of 95.39 percent. Over eight lakh 18 thousand people have recovered from the infection. The fatality rate reported yesterday was 1.33 percent with 20 districts reporting no deaths due to Covid. The state conducted 1,17,999 Covid tests, out of which 91,239 were RT PCR tests.
In view of colleges and student hostels opening from November 17, all the teachers, students and non-teaching staff members have been asked to undergo RT-PCR tests within 72 hours before the day of joining duty.
The Health department has made arrangements for collecting nasal and throat swabs for testing the College staff and students for the viral infection. The test results will be sent to them through SMS. All the labs conducting RT PCR tests have been instructed to carry out the tests and upload the results on ICMR portal. Only those with negative reports will be allowed into the college.
The Health and Family Welfare Services Commissionerate has revised guidelines for international returnees to Karnataka according to the Government of India directions. All the travelers are asked to submit a self declaration form in the online portal at least 72 hours before the scheduled date of travel. They are also needed to give an undertaking that they will abide by the decision of appropriate government authority to undergo facility quarantine for 14 days. An exemption can be sought by submitting a negative RT-PCR test report.
