Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday ruled out possibility of going to polls before expiry of the term. Election to the Legislative Assembly will be held in March or April next year, he added.
Addressing newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office bearers in Bengaluru, the Chief Minister said that he has also conveyed to the party High Command about going to poll only next year and not early.
Opposition parties are spreading the news about early poll only to mislead the public and they were afraid of popularity gained by Congress, he added. Mr Siddaramaiah claimed that he has fulfilled most of the promises made in the election manifesto.
He said that, he have even called for a debate on achievements made by NDA government in the last three years and his government in last four years.
