Security forces gunned down a top Maoist commander in an encounter in Gumla district yesterday. A joint squad of CRPF and state police killed Ashish Yadav, a member of the Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee in the jungles of Boradih forests of Gumla after a gunbattle.
Officials said, Yadav had a reward of 25 lakh rupees on his head and was instrumental in launching many attacks on security forces in the two states.
