The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Naval Forces claimed to have captured a unmanned underwater US military vehicle in the Strait of Hormuz. According to an official statement, the operation targeted what Iranian military authorities described as a second US military unmanned underwater vehicle operating in the strategic waterway. The intercepted platform was identified by the IRGC Navy as a Remus 600. Iranian officials alleged that the vehicle was conducting an intelligence-gathering mission inside the Strait of Hormuz.
There has been no immediate confirmation from the US side regarding the Iranian claim.
Earlier today, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, Tehran would remain resolute and would not retreat in the face of pressure from the United States and Israel. His remarks came after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposal for a seven-day ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
