Iraq on Sunday executed 36 persons convicted of taking part in the Islamic State group’s massacre of hundreds of soldiers in 2014.
State television quoting the Justice Ministry said, the executions were carried out at a prison in Nasiriya, a city in southern Iraq.
1,700 soldiers were killed in 2014 after they fled Camp Speicher, a former U.S. military base north of Tikrit, when it was overrun by Islamic State.
