Speaking at the banquet hosted by the Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete here on Friday, Dr Singh said both countries faced the common challenges of accelerating economic development and of ensuring that its fruits reach the most disadvantaged sections. Singh said India was a major buyer of Tanzanian agriculture products.
Pointing out that India and Tanzania should work together for international peace and stability, the Prime Minister said steps should be in place to ensure that the fruits of globalization are shared equitably.
Later launching the Dar-es-Salaam Institute of Technology, the Prime Minister said India was ready to provide all the help to enable Tanzania to create a pool of world-class IT professionals.
Dr Manmohan Singh leaves for New Delhi this afternoon after completing his six-day long visit to Ethiopia and Tanzania.
