India today summoned Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to convey its strong concern on continued ceasefire violations along the international border and LoC despite calls from India for restraint.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, Pakistan forces have committed 16 ceasefire violations in the past week leading to three fatal casualties among security forces. New Delhi conveyed that such loss of life and injury to civilians due to shelling is unacceptable and highly condemnable.
It also objected to the manner in which security of Indian High Commission officials working in Islamabad was jeopardised by publishing their photographs in local newspapers. India asked the neighbouring country to desist from such actions and ensure the safety and security of its diplomatic staff and their families there.
