Ahead of President Donald Trump’s maiden Asia visit, White House has said, India plays a big role in the Indo-Pacific region.
State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert told reporters in Washington yesterday, the United States has a close relationship with India and that both the countries have lot of areas of common interest, including both being democracies and large countries.
She further said, India can bring so much not only to the region but to the world. In addition, many American jobs can be generated through greater trade and cooperation with this country.
Trump embarks on a 12-day trip later this week to visit Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and Philippines. Although, he will not be paying a visit to India this time.
